Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 29, 2025
We at RankPros Media LLC are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Our product review website, RankPros.net, is being continually improved to provide an inclusive experience for all users. As part of this commitment, we aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the Level AA standard. WCAG 2.1 AA is widely recognized (including under the ADA) as the benchmark for web accessibility compliance. By adhering to these guidelines, we strive to make our content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for a broad range of users. We also endeavor to meet all relevant U.S. accessibility laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, which require accessible websites for businesses serving the public.
What Web Accessibility Means
Web accessibility means that websites, tools, and technologies are designed and developed so that people with disabilities can use them. An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or similar ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This is achieved by leveraging both built-in website capabilities and assistive technologies. For example, someone using a screen reader or voice-control software should be able to navigate our site effectively, just as a sighted user can with a mouse or touchscreen. Our goal is for all users – including those who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or other assistive tools – to have equal access to the information and services on RankPros.net.
Accessibility Adjustments on This Site
We have made extensive efforts to adapt RankPros.net in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. The site’s content has been designed to work with a variety of assistive technologies (such as screen readers and screen magnifiers) and to be fully navigable via keyboard alone. As part of our accessibility efforts, we have implemented the following measures:
-
Accessibility Audit Tools: Used the built-in Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and fix potential accessibility issues on the site. We also utilize third-party accessibility evaluation tools and manual testing to continually audit the site’s compliance.
-
Site Language Defined: Set the default language of the site to English (en-US) in the code, so that screen readers can automatically present text in the correct language and pronunciation.
-
Logical Content Structure: Organized and sequenced content in a logical reading and navigation order on every page. This ensures that as users navigate via keyboard (using the Tab key, for instance) or assistive tech, elements receive focus in an intuitive order (e.g., header, main content, sidebar, footer). We have also ensured that interactive components are reachable and operable through keyboard navigation alone (users can use Tab and Enter/Space to move through menus, links, and buttons).
-
Heading Hierarchy: Implemented a clear and consistent heading structure on all pages (using proper HTML tags for headings such as H1, H2, H3, etc.). This allows screen reader users to understand page organization and quickly jump to relevant sections. All page titles and section headers are descriptive to provide context.
-
Alternative Text for Images: Added descriptive alternative text (alt text) to all meaningful images and graphics on our site. This text conveys the purpose or content of images for those using screen readers or if images fail to load. Decorative images (that do not convey important information) are either given empty alt attributes or marked in a way to be ignored by assistive technology.
-
Color and Contrast: Chosen color combinations and design elements that meet the recommended contrast ratios under WCAG 2.1 AA (at least 4.5:1 for normal text). We avoid color combinations that could impede readability and ensure that information is not conveyed by color alone. This helps users with visual impairments or color blindness to read content and distinguish interface elements.
-
Reduced Motion and Animations: Minimized the use of excessive motion, flashing, or parallax animations on the site. We understand that motion or blinking content can trigger vestibular disorders or seizures for some users. Where motion or video effects are used, we provide controls to pause or disable them when possible. Any auto-playing media is set to no autoplay by default or is user-activated.
-
Accessible Multimedia: Ensured that any video or audio content on our site is accessible to all users. This includes providing captions or transcripts for videos and audio clips so that users with hearing impairments can access the information. If we publish video demonstrations or reviews in the future, we will include synchronized captions and/or text transcripts. For audio-only content (like podcasts), text transcripts will be provided. We avoid using audio that plays automatically.
-
Keyboard Navigation: Verified that all site features and functionalities can be used with a keyboard only, without requiring a mouse. Users can navigate through links, buttons, form controls (if any), and other interactive elements using the Tab key and activate them with Enter/Space. There are visible focus indicators to highlight the currently focused element on the page, ensuring that keyboard-only users can track their navigation. (Note: Wix templates are designed to support keyboard navigation out-of-the-box, and we have tested our site to confirm this support).
-
Accessible Documents: If any downloadable documents (such as PDF files or other attachments) are provided on our site, we ensure they are in an accessible format. This means PDFs are tagged properly for screen readers, with bookmarks, headings, and alternative text for any images. When we cannot make a document fully accessible, we will offer an alternate format upon request (for example, providing the content in HTML or plain text email). Currently, our site does not collect information via forms and does not present PDFs to users, which reduces potential accessibility barriers in form interactions and document downloads.
-
Assistive Technology Compatibility: We have tested our website with various browsers and assistive technologies to ensure compatibility. This includes testing with screen readers (such as NVDA and VoiceOver) and using browser developer tools to check for issues. Our site follows modern HTML5 and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standards to maximize compatibility with assistive tech. We strive to adhere to the principle of progressive enhancement, so that core content is accessible even if certain scripts or styles are unsupported in older technologies.
Through these measures, we have made a good-faith effort to ensure that RankPros.net is as accessible as possible. We recognize that standards and best practices can evolve, and we will continue to adapt as needed to maintain compliance.
Third-Party Content and Limitations
While we are responsible for the accessibility of content we create and control on RankPros.net, our website also incorporates third-party content and links that are outside of our full control. This includes:
-
Advertising: We display third-party advertisements (e.g., Google AdSense ads) on some pages. These ads are delivered via external scripts/iframes from our advertising partners. We do not have full control over the code or content of these ads. As a result, an ad provided by a third party might not perfectly meet our usual accessibility standards (for example, an advertisement iframe might lack a descriptive title or an image ad might not have alt text if not provided by the ad network). We have configured our ad placements in standard ways and rely on Google’s advertising platforms, which are expected to follow general accessibility guidelines, but we acknowledge there may be limitations. If an advertisement poses an accessibility issue, please inform us and we will work with our ad providers to address it or consider removing the problematic ad.
-
Affiliate Links and External Sites: Our site contains affiliate links to external websites, including retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Home Depot, and other companies with whom we have affiliate partnerships. These links allow you to visit third-party sites to purchase or learn more about products we review. We strive to make the link text or associated images accessible (e.g., by providing clear link descriptions and alt text on any product images that serve as links). However, once you leave our site and visit an external third-party site, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of those external sites. Each third-party is responsible for the accessibility of their own content. If you encounter an accessibility issue on a site we link to, we encourage you to review that site’s accessibility statement or contact them directly.
-
Embedded Third-Party Content: Aside from ads, we generally do not embed third-party media or widgets at this time. In the event that we embed content (for example, a YouTube video player or a social media feed), we will choose options that offer accessibility features (such as closed captions on YouTube videos). Even so, third-party plugins or embedded frames may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards in every aspect.
Because of these third-party elements, there may be pages or portions of pages on RankPros.net that are not fully under our control and thus not fully conformant with our accessibility efforts. We declare partial compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA for such content, insofar as certain third-party content or functionality may not meet the guidelines. This partial compliance is limited to the specific content provided by third parties; all content under our direct control remains intended to be in full compliance.
Our Responsibility: We will monitor third-party content as much as possible and seek to work with accessible partners. If we become aware that any third-party content we display is inaccessible or causes significant barriers, we will attempt to correct it (for example, by adjusting how it’s embedded, seeking an alternative accessible solution, or, if necessary, removing that content). Our aim is to ensure that the presence of third-party ads or affiliate elements does not prevent users from accessing the core content of our site.
Physical Location Accessibility
RankPros Media LLC operates exclusively online and does not maintain a public physical business location that customers visit (our mailing address in California is for correspondence and registered-agent purposes). As such, issues of physical premises accessibility (such as wheelchair ramps, restroom accommodations, or parking) are generally not applicable to our services. If you require any special accommodation to communicate with us beyond the website – for example, if you need documents in a different format or need to reach us via an alternate method due to a disability – please let us know. We will make reasonable accommodations to assist you. We are happy to communicate by email (as listed below) or arrange another method if email is not accessible for you.
Ongoing Efforts and Commitment
We are continually improving our accessibility efforts. Web accessibility is an ongoing process, and we regularly review our site as we add new content or features. Our team stays informed about updates to accessibility standards and best practices. We periodically audit our website using both automated tools and live user testing to identify and remediate any issues. By proactively monitoring our site, we aim to prevent issues before they affect our users.
Despite our best efforts, we acknowledge that some accessibility issues might inadvertently slip through. Technology is always evolving, as are accessibility techniques. We are committed to addressing any problems that arise and to learning from feedback.
